It was announced last week that TonyBet had become the official sports betting and online casino partner of the Canadian Premier League (CPL), succeeding ComeOn!, which had previously held that title. The CPL’s commissioner and CEO of Canadian Soccer Business, Mark Noonan, stated in a press release that TonyBet had been added to the league’s growing roster of sponsors, and they looked forward to working with them on experiences that engaged their fans and enhanced what it meant to be a supporter of the CPL and Canadian soccer in general.

TonyBet, a Baltic-based bookmaker named after poker player and Lithuanian politician Antanas Guoga, who also goes by Tony G, had received its Ontario sports betting and iGaming registration in December of 2022, which allowed the operator to launch recently in the regulated market in Canada’s most populous province. According to the press release, TonyBet was excited to build and enhance the fan experience with the CPL, which was one of the fastest-growing leagues in Canada.

It was further reported that TonyBet’s placement, which previously belonged to ComeOn!, was now sponsoring the CPL’s Match of the Week broadcast, free-to-play prediction contest, and Centre Circle app. It was also noted that in Ontario, ComeOn! only offered online casino gaming.
