In a recent development, it has been reported that Intralot Inc, which is the US subsidiary of Intralot, has partnered with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) for sports betting. According to the three-year deal, which has an option of three annual extensions, the BCLC will be provided with Intralot’s Intralot Orion sports betting platform and related managed services to enable the operations and management of its retail sportsbook.
It has been disclosed that Intralot’s retail sports betting solution will be deployed and offered across the BCLC’s retail network via Photon X retail terminals and GameStation self-service terminals, which are expected to be installed in British Columbia this winter. These terminals will also offer lottery products. Intralot’s Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) solution. It will allow players to view the full betting offering, prepare their own digital bet slips and generate a QR code from anywhere before scanning them at a retail terminal or self-service terminal, which has also been included in the deal.
As per the agreement, the Intralot retail sports betting solution will be accessible on more than 700 self-service terminals and at 3,400 clerk-operated terminals across the Canadian province.
