A pack of notable VR titles, coming to Meta’s Quest headsets.

Meta has recently concluded its latest Quest Gaming Showcase, where it provided a sneak peek of several virtual reality games coming to its Quest headsets. With the announcement of the Quest 3 and the recent launch of Sony’s PSVR 2, as well as rumors of Apple’s own headset, Meta faces increasing competition in the VR gaming market. However, for those invested in Meta’s VR platform, there are some exciting games on the horizon.

Asgard’s Wrath 2

One of the highlights from Meta’s showcase was Asgard’s Wrath 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the acclaimed action-adventure RPG Asgard’s Wrath. The gameplay footage showcased various elements such as swordfighting, ax throwing, puzzles, minigames, and even fishing. Meta promises that it will be a substantial game, featuring a campaign lasting over 60 hours and a roguelite dungeon mode. Asgard’s Wrath 2 is scheduled for a winter 2023 release on Quest headsets.

Assassin’s Creed Nexus

Adding to the roster of games available on Quest headsets is Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR. As Assassin’s Creed is already available on multiple gaming platforms, Meta’s announcement means that Quest owners will soon have the opportunity to experience the franchise in virtual reality. Further details about the game were not provided during the showcase, but Ubisoft will share more information during its Ubisoft Forward event on June 12th.

Stranger Things

Fans of Stranger Things will be delighted to know that a Stranger Things VR game is in the works. The game aims to immerse players in the eerie world of the popular series, allowing them to assume the role of Vecna. A spooky and ominous trailer was unveiled during the showcase, providing a glimpse of what the game will entail. Stranger Things VR is slated for release in the fall.

Samba de Amigo

Sega is bringing the rhythm game Samba de Amigo to Quest headsets this fall, offering players the chance to shake virtual maracas in VR while enjoying a selection of 40 hit songs. While it may not match the popularity of Beat Saber, Samba de Amigo promises a silly and entertaining experience.

Ghostbusters

Following a teaser from last year’s gaming showcase, Meta revealed a new story trailer for the Ghostbusters VR game. Titled Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, this co-op game is set in San Francisco and allows players to team up with three friends to bust ghosts. The game is scheduled for release this fall.

Powerwash Simulator

In a fitting partnership, the relaxing and satisfying washing game Powerwash Simulator is getting a VR adaptation for Meta’s Quest headsets. The VR version of Powerwash Simulator is expected to be available sometime this year.
