On the 29th of April, the Pickering Casino Resort had its grand opening after a launch party hosted by the leading gaming, entertainment and hospitality company of the Great White North, Great Canadian Entertainment. According to Duncan Hannay, the CEO of OLG, Pickering Casino Resort is the most advanced casino in Ontario. The casino occupies a space of 96,000 square feet and offers 2,200 slot machines, more than 90 table games, and roughly 140 stadium gaming terminals. The Great Canadian Sportsbook is also located in the casino, where fans can watch and bet on both local and international sporting events.
Matthew Anfinson, the CEO of Great Canadian Entertainment, expressed his excitement about unveiling their new attractions, including The Arena at Pickering Casino Resort. Anfinson also mentioned that the incomparable Bryan Adams, the Honorable Minister Bethenfalvy, Mayor Ashe, and Duncan Hannay were among those who graced the occasion. He added that they were grateful for the help and support they had received from so many wonderful people and organizations.
Anfinson stated that they were proud to honour the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation and their essential work for the community. He further noted that they were committed to being a welcoming and valuable member of the community. The Pickering Casino Resort also features a 275-room hotel with a wellness center, wave pool, sauna, fitness facility, business center, and luxurious guest rooms. Great Canadian Entertainment is also committed to the Durham Region, where it has other properties, including Great Blue Heron Casino & Hotel and Casino Ajax.
It is worth mentioning that last month, Pickering Casino made an unprecedented agreement with the Durham Region. The agreement states that the casino revenue will be split once it reaches the $10m threshold, and the funds will be about $8m per year.
