Woodbine Entertainment has made an exciting announcement today, revealing the inclusion of Swinger/Omni wagers in the wagering options available at Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Woodbine Entertainment has exciting news for horseplayers in Ontario this week. The leading horse racing operator in the region is introducing a new wagering option called Swinger, also known as Omni wager, at Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Swinger, or Omni, is a popular international wager where participants select two of the top three finishers in a race. They can win by correctly predicting the horses that finish first and second, first and third, or second and third. Wagers for this option start at CA$1, and the takeout is set at 18%.
Woodbine Entertainment announced in a press release that the Swinger/Omni wagers will now be available at both Woodbine Racetrack and Woodbine Mohawk Park. Starting from June 1, 2023, horseplayers can enjoy this new wagering option on all races at the tracks, both in-person and online.
But that’s not all the news from the Ontario horse racing organization. They have also made changes to the schedule for this weekend’s qualifiers at Woodbine Mohawk Park. With qualifiers for two-year-olds taking place, the track will assess the number of entries to determine whether two days of qualifiers are necessary.
According to the operator, there are several possible scenarios based on the number of entries received. If only one day is needed, all qualifiers will be held on Friday. However, if there are numerous entries requiring two days, regular qualifiers will be held on Friday, and two-year-old qualifiers will be held on Saturday.
Each qualifying session will commence at 10 a.m., and horsepeople are reminded that the entry box for this weekend’s qualifiers will close on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. Submissions for qualifiers must be filed using Standardbred Canada’s online entry system.
